"BIRDS OF THE EVERGLADES"

Michael Stern - Nature Photographer

You are invited to attend a nature photography exhibit representing Michael Stern’s photography of the birds and other animals of the Everglades National Park. A native and life-long resident of Southern Florida, Michael is the current photographer in residence in Everglades National Park.

From an early age Michael has been interested in water sports, fishing, and boating along with various artistic endeavors such as photography, especially in relation to nature and wildlife. As an avid outdoorsman Michael is passionate about all aspects of the outdoors, including exploring the Everglades and observing those moments in nature that most of us never have the good fortune to witness. His drive to capture these images is from within, and he has been motivated by the desire to create art with his photography and share with others the magnificence that is at our doorstep.

Michael has just completed a very successful juried art show – the 37th Annual Chamber South/ South Miami Art Festival, South Miami, Florida--this past November 1st and 2nd. and he was honored with an award of 2nd Place for photography.

He has stated that, "My goal is to capture the natural beauty and splendor of nature’s design with a conservationist’s eye," and he welcomes you to do the same. Kindly join Michael and explore the birds and other animals of the Everglades as found through Michael’s camera lens. You also can visit his website at: www.sternphotos.com

Michael’s collection of images will be on display at the Ernest Coe Visitor Center in Everglades National Park through October 31st, 2009.
