Have you ever seen the Everglades? It is a wonderful environment! The Everglades is special to everyone. It is special to me because it is breathtaking, calm, and the rangers are great.
The Everglades is special to me because it is breathtaking. The Everglades is breathtaking in a lot of ways. It is beautiful, educational, and fun. You can look at the sapphire water and the blue and gray of the great blue heron's wings while learning about conservation and wildlife. You can have fun spotting alligators too.
The Everglades is also special to me because it is calm. On the tour you go up to a huge tower and close your eyes and stay quiet to take in the sounds of the Everglades. When I did that, I heard the wind and a couple of birds. When I did that on the way back to the bus, I heard birds, wind, and crickets. I felt calm and relaxed.
Lastly, the Everglades is special to me because the rangers are great. On my field trip to the Everglades, the rangers did fun activities to teach us. The activities were eating sawgrass, and using some students, a sponge and a water bottle to show how little water goes to the Everglades. They taught me about "pirates" of the Everglades and what they do to harm the Everglades. The rangers taught me a lot of information. I learned that periphyton is absorbent. I got to touch it! I also learned that the great blue heron is the tallest wading bird in the Everglades.
The Everglades is special to everyone. It is special to me because it is breathtaking, calm, and the rangers are great. If you want beauty, education, calm moments, great rangers, and a lot of fun, go to the Everglades!
