  • Eugene O'Neill NHS Reduces Days Open

    We will be closed for tours Mondays through Thursdays. Guided tours by reservation are on Fridays and Sundays at 10 & 2. Our self-guided Saturdays Without Reservations shuttle pick-up will be at 205 Railroad Ave., Danville, at 10:15 AM, 12:15 & 2:15 PM.

Visiting The Site

Guided tours of Tao House are offered Fridays and Sundays at 10:00 am or 2:00 pm by advance reservation only. Tours are free and include transportation to/from the park. Please allow 2½ hours for your visit. We suggest you contact us at least two weeks in advance to schedule your tour. Same day reservations are sometimes available.

Self-guided tours are offered on Saturdays. Advance reservations are not required. Shuttles leave from downtown Danville at 10:15 AM, 12:15 PM and 2:15 PM on a first-come, first-served basis. Please allow 1.5 hours for your visit.
If one is walking up local roads, or sauntering through Las Trampas Wilderness to get to Tao house on Saturday, please be here before 3:30 PM.


Closed on Thanksgiving Day , Christmas Day , and New Year's Day.

Reservations are required for guided tours of the site. Self-guided tours are offered on "Saturdays Without Reservations." Due to the location of this park, all visitors are required to take a free National Park Service shuttle from the town of Danville to tour the historic home and grounds. Visitors are not permitted to drive their personal/private vehicles to the site.
