Join National Park Service rangers in the re-opening of Eugene O’Neill National Historic Site in Danville, CA. Reduced days of week operation are over! We are now open four days a week for free; 2 hour reserved guided tours at 10 AM & 2 PM on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Call 925-838-0249, ext. 6320 to leave your reservation request.
“No Reservation Saturdays” continues at Eugene O’Neill NHS with free self-guided tours of Tao house. Visitors are picked up on Saturdays in front of the Museum of the San Ramon Valley, located at 205 Railroad Ave., Danville. An NPS shuttle picks up visitors three times on Saturday, at 10:15 AM, 12:15 PM, & 2:15 PM.

Eugene O'Neill, the only American playwright to win both the Nobel Prize for Literature and four Pulitzer Prizes, made Danville, CA his home from 1937 -1944. O’Neill dedicated his time to his craft and transformed his past into the autobiographical plays that made him America's most important playwright. O'Neill wrote 61 plays in a career spanning three decades, but it was at Tao House that Eugene wrote his final and most significant plays: "The Iceman Cometh," "Long Days Journey Into Night," and "A Moon For the Misbegotten."
