Outline and Agenda for Two-Day Workshops
Both workshops will be of two days duration. The northern Phase will be conducted at the San Juan Pueblo. The southern phase will be split between Ysleta Del Sur, TX and Las Cruces, NM, with one day being allocated to each.
Northern Phase 2
Day 1
- identify 3-4 research questions
- select the exact REAP methods to be used
- confirm the teams along the north of the trail, to coordinate with San Juan Pueblo and neighboring Hispanic communities
- in consultation with the San Juan Pueblo, El Camino Real Consortium, and Mimbres groups, propose exactly which additional community sites will be identified for study, relying on the criteria defined above
- identify and list the points of contact in these communities who will be the beginning of the network sampling, these may be landholders, church officials, local educators, homeowners' associations, and many others.
Day 2
- determine exactly which community team members will approach which research sites and contacts to conduct their research
- propose a realistic specific timeline and staff allocation for the REAP
- outline draft proposal to be completed by A&E Phase II Coordinator and staff
Post Workshop
Develop and circulate proposal for comments and revision.
Southern Phase 2
Day 1 (Ysleta Del Sur/El Paso, TX)

- confirm the faculty, student, and community teams from Ysleta Del Sur, University of Texas - El Paso, and New Mexico State University
- propose exactly which additional community sites will be identified for study, depending on the criteria defined above
- identify and list the points of contact in these communities who will be the beginning of the network sampling, these may be landholders, church officials, local educators, homeowners’ associations, and others
Day 2 (New Mexico State University - Las Cruces, NM)
- confirm the faculty and student teams from Hispanic communities and New Mexico State Universit
- determine exactly to which community research sites the team members will go to conduct their research
- propose a realistic specific timeline and staff allocation for the REAP
- outline the draft proposal to be completed by A&E Phase II Coordinator and staff.
Post Workshop
Develop and circulate proposal for comments and revision.
