A wreath laying ceremony to celebrate Eleanor Roosevelt's 130th birthday will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Rose Garden at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site in Hyde Park.
Mrs. Shirley Jackson will be the guest speaker. As a little girl, she knew both Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. She recently wrote a children's book entitled, "Hot Dogs For The Queen," which highlighted her relationship with Eleanor Roosevelt. Various community organizations will be presenting wreaths at the event. Birthday Cake will be served at the Henry A. Wallace Visitor Center after the Rose Garden ceremony provided by the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library & Museum.
The event is FREE and open to the public.
