The National Park Service is set to begin work on visitor access improvements at Roosevelt Farm Lane at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site. The Farm Lane provides a trail connection between Routes 9 and 9G and is part of the Hyde Park Trail network.

The project includes construction of a permanent Roosevelt Farm Lane trailhead and 40-car parking area on historic Roosevelt lands at the south end of the Hyde Park Drive-In Theater.(Theater operations will not be affected.) The entrance to the new parking area will be directly opposite the existing entrance to the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site.

A connecting trail from the new parking area to Roosevelt Farm Lane will be constructed and will include a small bridge and a boardwalk.

A new, traffic actuated signal will be installed on Route 9 at the park entrance. This will dramatically improve the safety of this intersection while having the lowest impact on Route 9 through traffic. The light will only activate when traffic is using the intersection. The traffic signal will also permit safe pedestrian crossing of Route 9.

This project will also result in improved access for the park's shuttle bus and trams. The project includes a bus shelter for Roosevelt Ride passengers. The existing Route 9 trailhead parking lot will be removed once the new parking area is open.

At the Route 9G trail crossing, there will be improvements to the parking area to permit shuttle bus access, and an improved crosswalk for pedestrians.
