The Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site Introduces

"Cottage Conversations,"

A New Way to Get to Know Eleanor Roosevelt's Life and Work

HYDE PARK:Eleanor Roosevelt accomplished so much in her lifetime that a one -hour tour of her Val-Kill home can only touch the surface. In order to let the public understand her better, the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sites are introducing "Cottage Conversations."

This unique program is free but requires reservations to participate in a conversation in Mrs. Roosevelt's Stone Cottage to discuss various aspects of her life and work. Sarah Olson, NPS Superintendent said, "There's so much more to know about Eleanor Roosevelt and given her fondness for inviting people to tea, a conversation over tea and cookies seemed a wonderful way share information." The Cottage Conversations are 45 minutes to one hour in length and are facilitated by knowledgeable Rangers. The program will be held once a month throughout the next six months and reservations are required and can be made online at
