Educational Fee Waiver
A Student Conservation Association Intern orients a school group to El Morro.

NPS Photo

A park ranger, volunteer, or student intern will orient your school group upon arriving at El Morro.

If your visit is educational in nature, you may qualify for an Educational Fee Waiver. This will waive the entrance fees for the group.

To apply for the Educational Fee Waiver, print page two of the following PDF file, fill it out completely, and fax or mail it to the Fee Coordinator at the contact information listed at the bottom of the first page. Please be sure to show (with a course outline or lesson plan) how a visit to El Morro relates to something you are studying in class.

Educational Fee Waiver Directions and Form (94k PDF File)

The Fee Coordinator will need your completed Educational Fee Waiver Application at least two weeks prior to your preferred field trip date. Occasionally, the date that you request may already be reserved, so the earlier you can apply, the better!

El Morro National Monument's avian claim to fame is the White-throated Swift, which was described to science for the very first time here in 1851, by Dr. S. W. Woodhouse of the Sitgreaves Expedition.
