Immigrant Heritage Week and National Park Week April 16-28, 2009

Declared an official celebration by New York City's Mayor Bloomberg, this unique week is a celebration of the vibrant immigrant culture, heritage and communities found in every corner of the City.

National Park Week is an annual Presidentially proclaimed week for celebration and recognition of your National Parks.

Throughout the museum, look for posters marked "PAST and PRESENT" specifically designed to inspire visitors and provoke thought about immigration issues.

Those visiting with young children may pick up a specially designed "Family Activity Book" to help add to your museum experience.  In addition, sutudent from around the New York City area have art work and essays on display.  Do not forget to explore the Peopling of America gallery and view paintings that comprise "The Immigrant Trail", artwork created by Park Ranger, Dave McCutcheon.

We look forward to your April visit.
