WWII Weekend Parking Changes at ENHS

Because of the heavy rain this week, visitors will not be able to park in the farm fields at the Eisenhower National Historic Site during World War II weekend this Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18.

The National Park Service is hosting more than 50 living history groups and numerous veterans are scheduled to speak.

All visitors must take the shuttle bus leaving from the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg. To accommodate visitor demand, shuttles will run every 15 minutes from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Additional buses have been added to provide extra shuttle capacity. The Visitor Center will open at 8 a.m. and an express ticket sale line for Eisenhower Shuttle Tickets only will be available.  Visitors are encouraged to arrive early.

Additional parking will be available in the old Visitor Center parking lot and the National Cemetery parking lot on Taneytown Road along Taneytown Road.  For visitor convenience, free shuttles will run every 15 minutes from these parking lots to the Museum and Visitor Center between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. MORE INFORMATION...

David Eisenhower

President Eisenhower named Camp David after his grandson.  Despite all his renovations to the official presidential retreat, Eisenhower preferred to spend his time 18 miles down the road at his Gettysburg Farm.
