Workshops are held each summer offering a variety of learning experiences for professional educators. Our focus is not on teaching classroom techniques; we offer subject matter and resource information teachers can use in the classroom or during visits to the Monument (or other American Indian mound sites).

The content, length (in days) and agendas vary each year and are dependent on grant funding. We work with universities and school districts to offer academic credit, etc., each year.

Please pass this information around to other teachers, administrators, support staff, etc., in your school / district. All are invited to take part.

Please feel free to contact Merle Frommelt at Effigy Mounds, (563) 873 3491, or at his personal number in the evening, (608) 326 2275.

* Our 2004 workshop is featured on the NPS Archeology website as a case study for interpreting for archeologists.
