| Procedure: |
- Discuss with the students the upcoming field trip to Effigy Mounds. See background information for information about the Effigy Mounds National Monument
- Tell them they are going to make a prediction (guess) what this area will look like. Tell them to include the mounds, wildlife, and nature in their pictures.
- Give them a predetermined amount of time to draw.
- When they return from the field trip, have them look at their drawings and discuss how their predictions differ from what they saw. They can also describe the similarities.
