Bag of Artifacts

Bag O' Artifacts

Artifacts represent individuals as well as cultures. Groups of artifacts found together can change the meaning of single artifacts. Through examining personalized artifact collections, members of a group will try to guess who of the group they represent.

  1. Have each participant fill a small paper bag with objects that represent themselves.

  2. Give everyone an individual number to put on his or her bag and keep a hidden list of the names and numbers.

  3. Mix the bags up so that everyone gets someone else's artifacts.

  4. Have each person try to guess to whom the bag belongs. How could they tell?

  5. Discuss your answers.
