Glenmont Greenhouse Restoration

At the Greenhouse, gardners once grew fresh flowers for use by the Glenmont houshold. It's restoration was sorely needed.

This work has been completed. A local garden club is volunteering to renew the plantlife that once flourished here.

As part of the Glenmont greenhouse restoration, workman removed and cleaned every pane of glass.

Edison National Historic Site staff removed all plants, covered trays, and beds inside the greenhouse.

Workers used vacated benches as work surfaces for cleaning and drying panes. They cleaned larger panes outside.

The project also included the cleaning of cypress railings that support the panes of glass, and the fabricated new moldings, as needed.
