LODGING Gas, food, and lodging are available in the reserve and surrounding areas. There is a range of lodging opportunities. For a complete listing of motels and bed-and-breakfasts in the area, call the Central Whidbey Chamber of Commerce at (360) 678-5434. Camping on Whidbey Island is limited, with sites most readily available in the spring and fall. Moorage is available at the Coupeville wharf for a fee. Hedgerows function as fences, property lines, important cultural ties with the past, and extremely valuable wildlife habitat. In the Reserve, hedgerows define historic cultural land use patterns dating back to early Euro-American settlement in the 1850s.
