The DSC Planning Division is the centralized office for the NPS Planning Program. We provide integrated mission-based park planning throughout the national park system. We undertake trackable planning processes to produce documents that assist NPS staff to make decisions that preserve natural and cultural resources while providing for excellent visitor experiences.
We strive to effectively engage diverse audiences and we value ideas and information contributed by the public. We are a center for innovation, creating a variety of useful, relevant, realistic, and accessible planning products.
We produce a wide range of planning documents such as foundation documents, site specific plans, general management plans, comprehensive river management plans, wilderness stewardship plans, special resource studies, and commercial services plans.
Our Mission
For the National Park Service, we provide a collaborative framework for informed decision making that advances the stewardship of resources and visitor experiences.
