Cape
Hatteras Lighthouse Relocation
Cape Hatteras, North Carolina
 |
Because of
natural erosion of the shoreline surrounding the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse,
the National Park Service made the decision to move it approximately
one-half mile inland to safer ground. The move was completed in January
2000, and had been managed by the Denver Service Center. |
