Beginning September 4, 2007, fall operating hours for the park visitor center in Dinosaur, Colorado, will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. It will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. This visitor center will close for the season on October 29.

The visitor center near Jensen, Utah, is open daily 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Memorial Day Weekend next spring.

As the temperatures become cooler, fall is an excellent time to visit Dinosaur National Monument. Hiking trails lead visitors to scenic overlooks, rock art, dinosaur fossil fragments, and other interesting features. For more information, contact the park at (435) 781-7700.

Did You Know?
Mormon crickets are wingless grasshoppers that swarm across roads through the summer in the western United States. These flightless insects can form such large swarms that the road appears to move and change colors where they cross.
