“Buffalo Bill” performs at many festivals, concerts, and cowboy poetry gatherings across the West.  He has performed in concert with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Waddie Mitchell and Riders in the Sky.  He has also produced two programs on the history of the West in cooperation with Wyoming Public Radio.  This will be Bill’s thirteenth year to perform at the national monument.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.  The program will move to the Devils Tower Picnic Shelter in inclement weather.

Did You Know?
It is believed that the Tower got its name when Colonel Dodge's translator misinterpreted the name to mean Bad God's Tower, later shortened to Devils Tower. Some Indians call it Mato Tipila, meaning Bear Lodge. Other American Indian names include Bear’s Tipi, Home of the Bear, and Tree Rock.
