ASTRONOMER NELLO WILLIAMS VISITS DEVILS TOWER NATIONAL MONUMENT

Astronomer Nello Williams will present the “Skies Over Devils Tower” on Saturday, July 14 at 9:00 p.m. in the amphitheatre.  For thousands of years, people have shared stories of the sky.  They tracked time by understanding the position of the sun and the stars.  Join Nello for a look at the planets and stars today to better understand the beautiful sky over Devils Tower National Monument.

A native of Indiana, Nello received his masters degree in earth science and astronomy from Ball State University.  He has taught astronomy for more than 30 years.  He currently runs the Campbell County School District planetarium in Gillette, Wyoming.  Nello has taken thousands of children and adults through the Devils Tower area on education field trips.
