Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Devils Tower National Monument
Devils Tower National Monument invites everyone to join in the fun on Saturday, September 27th. In celebration of National Public Lands Day, entrance fees will be waived. National Public Lands Day, now in its 21st year, educates Americans about the environment, natural and cultural resources, and the need for shared stewardship of valued, irreplaceable lands. NPLD builds partnerships within the community based on mutual interests in the enhancement and restoration of America's public lands and improves public lands for outdoor recreation with volunteers assisting land managers in hands-on work.

Devils Tower National Monument Celebrates 98th Birthday of the National Park Service
Devils Tower National Monument joins over 400 hundred other National Park Service sites in celebration of the 97th birthday of the National Park Service. “In recognition of the National Park Service’s 98th birthday as "America’s best idea" 400 individual national park units are illuminating their priceless value by waiving entrance fees.” said Reed Robinson, superintendent of Devils Tower National Monument.

Old Settlers Picnic Celebrated at Devils Tower
Music! Food! Games! Friends! Relatives! Residents throughout the area will celebrate history at the Old Settlers’ Picnic Sunday, June 29. The festivities will begin at 12:30 pm in the picnic area at Devils Tower National Monument. There will be free entrance into the monument for those attending the event.

Voluntary Climbing Closure During June
A voluntary climbing closure at Devils Tower is in effect through the month of June. Climbers are asked to refrain from climbing on the Tower during June out of respect for American Indians. June is a culturally significant month.

Devils Tower Temporary Climbing Closure Updated
Superintendent Reed Robinson has updated a temporary closure of climbing routes on the west face and southwest shoulder of the Tower after monument staff observed prairie falcons with defensive nesting behavior near McCarthy West Face.

Superintendent Reed Robinson temporarily closed climbing routes on the west face and the northwest shoulder of Devils Tower to protect nesting prairie falcons. Over one hundred and fifty climbing routes remain open on the Tower.

Go wild for the geology, culture, history, nature and trails of Devils Tower National Monument during National Park Week, April 19 through 27, 2014. To kick-off the celebration, Devils Tower National Monument will waive entrance fees on April 19 and 20.

A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 416,994 visitors to Devils Tower NM in 2012 spent $24,517,000 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 352 jobs in the local area.

Black tailed prairie dog

Eradication programs have reduced the black-tailed prairie dog’s range from thousands of square miles to a few scattered preserves like this one at Devils Tower National Monument. They now inhabit about 2% of the area they once occupied 200 years ago.
