Phillip Whiteman, Jr. will perform at Devils Tower National Monument on Friday, June 1, 2007. Mr. Whiteman will share his flute playing and several American Indian stories, including the story of the flute. He will end his program by performing the Grass Dance. This program will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Devils Tower Amphitheatre. The program will move to the Picnic Shelter in inclement weather. Admission to the program is free with paid admission into the monument.

Phillip Whiteman, Jr. is a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and has lived in Lame Deer, Montana most of his life. His personal and professional objective is to promote cultural integrity throughout Indian Country and the world.

Mr. Whiteman has been a familiar face in the pow wow arena since he was a small boy. His reputation as a cultural consultant and presenter has grown rapidly with storytelling and presentations being well received in schools and national conferences throughout the plains states and the northwest.
