August Full Moon Walk

Explore the night time secrets of Devils Tower under the glow of the “Thunder Moon”. This night walk will take place on Saturday, August 16th at 9:00 p.m. This walk will provide an opportunity to explore Devils Tower National Monument after sunset to look at the formation and historical accounts of the Tower, local plants and animals, Native American stories, and other nightly wonders.
The walk will be limited to 35 people. For reservations, call the Devils Tower Visitor Center at 307-467-5283 x 635. Participants will meet at the Joyner Ridge Trail parking lot. This trailhead is accessed via Joyner Ridge Rd. which is located approximately 2.5 miles up the main road after entering the park. A flashlight, jacket and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. No headlamps will be permitted. The walk will last just over an hour and is NOT handicap accessible. Restrooms are located at the Visitor Center area which is approximately a half mile past the turnoff for Joyner Ridge Rd.
The program is free with the $10 monument entrance fee.
