The National Park Service, with sponsorship from the Access Fund and the Devils Tower Natural History Association, will be hosting the 9th annual "Adopt-a-Crag" workday at Devils Tower National Monument on Saturday, September 27th. The event will consist of early morning trail rebuilding for popular climbing approaches, followed by an open afternoon of climbing/ hiking, and ending with a free barbeque dinner for all volunteers. Attendees will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Climbing Ranger office located near the visitor center. Please be prepared with a lunch and bring work gloves, proper clothing for any weather, and sturdy footwear. The entrance fee and camping fees will be waived to those participating in the workday.

The Access Fund is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to keep climbing areas open to the public and conservation of the climbing environment. The organization works in cooperation with climbers, other recreational users, public land managers, and private land owners to promote responsible use and sound management of climbing resources throughout the United States. The Access Fund encourages an ethic of personal responsibility, self-regulation, strong conservation values, and low-impact practices among climbers. The Access Fund has been a strong partner in the management of climbing at Devils Tower and a supporter of the June voluntary closure.

The Access Fund's 9th annual Adopt-a-Crag program presented by title sponsor Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), presenting sponsor W.L. Gore, and contributing sponsor CLIF BAR, and the Devils Tower National History Association.

Devils Tower with snow

Did You Know?
When the proclamation establishing Devils Tower was published, the apostrophe was unintentionally dropped from “Devil’s”—and this clerical error was never officially corrected.
