De Soto Landing Date Has Been Changed to Saturday April 19th
The Date for the De soto Landing Event on the parks Calendar of Events is wrong. It is listed as April 20th. The event has moved to Saturday April 19th as originally planned. The times of the landing remain the same at 10am and 1pm.
LESSON PLAN: MANGROVE ESTUARY
This activity is designed to engage middle school students at all academic achievement levels and to facilitate learning among the diverse population of our local community. Instruction on the structure and function of the mangrove estuary and the adaptations of the living organisms located within it will help educate students about the importance of protecting and maintaining the health of the mangrove estuary at DeSoto National Memorial.
LESSON PLAN: BREAKING NEWS! EXPEDITION EDITION
With a focus on unbiased reporting, this activity is designed to encourage students to critically and thoughtfully approach historical events. Students will be tasked with reviewing multiple sources of information and reporting on key aspects of a historical event. Student's reporting will be recorded and critiqued for interest, accuracy and delivery.
