Explore data from as many as 30 soundscape study locations in years between 2006 and 2009. Each site provides a summary and descriptions that include GPS location, elevation, ecoregion and sampling period, plus as many as nine charts of specific site findings.

Denali is a dynamic and ever-changing place. Careful examination of paired historic and recent photographs by park staff has revealed dramatic and widespread landscape changes in and around Denali National Park and Preserve.

Paired photographs are extremely valuable because they allow for a self-paced visual comparison of landscape characters otherwise difficult to observe. For more than a generation, since 1973, Denali has offered visitors an opportunity to spend a day hiking with a park ranger in wilderness backcountry areas where there are no roads or trails. Small group sizes of 11 people or fewer allow for meaningful interactions while minimizing impact on park resources.
