DENALI PARK, Alaska:The public is invited to an early stage scoping meeting on Denali National Park and Preserve's Long Range Transportation Plan taking place on Wednesday, September 24 at 6:00 pm in the McKinley Village Community Center (Mile 230 Parks Highway). National Park Service planners will be seeking public input and providing information about the plan's purpose, need, and process. This plan is part of a nationwide
National Park Service initiative to plan for multi-modal transportation on federal lands during the next 10-20 years.

Visitors to Denali National Park and Preserve use multiple modes of transportation for traveling to and from the park, and during their visit. They arrive and depart on planes, trains, buses, automobiles, and motorhomes, as well as by foot, aircraft, boat, off-road
vehicle, dogsled, and other means. There are many significant issues to consider regarding transportation planning,
including the use of the complex shuttle systems, access needs for inholders and subsistence users, transportation into remote backcountry areas via
overland routes and waterways, etc.

The long range transportation planning process seeks to look at transportation challenges and accompanying solutions. The input of area residents, commercial operators, visitors, organizations and other interested parties will prove invaluable information for crafting an inclusive and effective plan that gives consideration to access, landscapes being altered by climate change, resource protection, and much more.
