DENALI PARK, Alaska: The National Park Service (NPS) intends to release a prospectus in November 2013 for a concession contract soliciting proposals to operate bus tours, transit, courtesy shuttle, retail, food and beverage, camping and other services within Denali National Park and Preserve.

The NPS will hold a two-day site visit beginning at 1:00 pm on Tuesday August 13, 2013, and ending at 5:00 pm on Wednesday August 14, 2013. This visit is taking place before issuing the prospectus because the seasonal services described in the prospectus will not be in operation when the NPS releases the prospectus in November. The site visit will allow all interested parties to tour concession facilities and observe the required bus services while they are in operation. The NPS does not intend to host an additional site visit associated with this business opportunity, as the operation closes during the winter season and the proposal period for the prospectus will close before the services resume.Parties interested in attending the pre-solicitation site visit on August 13th and 14th must RSVP to Jim LeBel via email at jim_lebel@nps.gov by 4:00 pm (Alaska Time) on Friday, August 9, 2013. Each interested entity may bring a maximum of four (4) attendees. Please include the names of those who will attend in the email.

The site visit will start at the Murie Dining Hall, adjacent to the Murie Science and Learning Center, which is located at Mile 1.2 on the Denali Park Road, just west of the railroad crossing. The NPS will provide additional information on the site visit to those who respond in a timely fashion.

Anyone who would like to receive information about the business opportunity, but not attend the site visit, should contact Jim LeBel to be placed on a contact list. The NPS will provide information both before and after the site visit. The NPS has published a description of the business opportunity on the NPS Washington Commercial Services website (www.concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm). Please check the website frequently for updates.
