Eielson Visitor Center Temporarily Closed

The Eielson Visitor Center, located on Mile 66 on the Denali Park Road, will be closed all day on Wednesday, July 13 so that subject matter experts can assess a malfunction of the sewage system. Park managers will determine when the visitor center will reopen when that assessment is complete.

During this temporary closure buses with Eielson as their destination will turn around in the parking lot, and only disembark passengers who want to hike. Trails in the area will remain open for day and overnight use.

Buses heading to Wonder Lake and Kantishna will not stop at Eielson. A temporary rest area is being established for these buses at the Mile 73 pullout.

Additional park information is available on the web at www.nps.gov/dena or by calling (907) 683-9532 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Stay connected with "DenaliNPS" on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, and iTunes – links to these social media sites are available at www.nps.gov/dena.
