DENALI PARK, Alaska: Fire Management staff at Denali National Park and Preserve are planning to burn debris consisting of trees and brush between Sunday, May 19 and Friday, June 7, as weather conditions permit. The single pile is located at the Toklat Road Camp, approximately one-half mile north of the Denali Park Road at Mile 53. The material being burned is from hazard fuel reduction (fire protection) around structures, brush removal on the park road, and maintenance projects in the park.

Smoke may be visible in the surrounding area from the park road and from aircraft.

NPS Fire Management staff will be monitoring the burning on site. The pile is expected to burn for two to three days.
