Professional Development

A variety of teacher trainings are available each summer through the Murie Science and Learning Center. Professional development credit is provided through the University of Alaska.

A limited number of teacher scholarships are available to attend Denali-based teacher trainings.

The nationwide "Teacher-Ranger-Teacher" program is a great opportunity for an educator to work as a seasonal park ranger. Denali is one of many parks that hires a teacher-ranger-teacher to assist our education team during the summer and bring the park back to their classroom in the fall. Hiring for 2012 is complete, but keep an eye on this page in mid-winter, 2012-13 for next year's program hiring; or follow the link above to seek other parks still hiring for the TRT program.

Did you know that pets must be leashed at all times when visiting Denali National Park and Preserve?  They are not allowed on trails, riverbars, or in the backcountry.
