Following restoration in 2006, The David Berger Memorial was placed on the grounds of the Mandel Jewish Community Center (JCC). Visitors to the memorial have access to JCC grounds but access to the National Park Service Passport Cancellation Stamp is limited to the open hours of the JCC reception desk. The David Berger Memorial's broken Olympic rings signify the disruption of the Munich games. Its eleven segments represent each athlete killed in the massacre. The ring are angled in a wave to emphasize, according to David’s father, that hope for progress should survive tragedy.
