Things To Know Before You Come

PARDON OUR DUST!
Reality shows and “extreme-makeover’s” are always fascinating to watch as they unfold and change from week to week. The Wright-Dunbar Plaza, which serves to “welcome” visitors entering the Wright Cycle Company complex and the Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center will be undergoing such a “make-over” this year. Phase I of this project is now underway with a goal to make the plaza more inviting through the addition of a new entry to the Interpretive Center, as well as some additional landscaping and seating. So, please excuse the dust.
Access to the museum is currently through the Maintenance Door, just east of the front entrance. For further information, call 937-225-7705.

Did You Know?
In search of land to build his library, Truman originally planned to return to Grandview rather than Independence after leaving the White House. The City of Independence, however, donated property for the building, so he decided not to move.
