Mississippi Heat
Blues band Mississippi Heat has been called "quite simply the hottest band in Chicago..." by the Chicago Sun-Times. For more than 20 years, the band has followed the unwavering vision of bandleader and composer Pierre Lacocque. Heat marries the traditional golden sounds of 1950s Chicago Blues greats (think Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Jimmy Rogers) with a preference for writing original music. Lacocque (harmonica) combines his talents with the powerful Etta James- like voice of Inetta Visor and the blues drumming of Kenny Smith, along with Joseph Veloz on bass and Billy Satterfield on guitar.
