  • Canal Visitor Center Closure

    Canal Visitor Center will be closed for construction, starting Monday, May 6, 2013. It will reopen with new exhibits in early 2014.

  • Riverview Road Closure

    Riverview Rd from the Cuyahoga Falls line north to the Peninsula line will be re-paved, beginning the week of April 22. Expect delays. Flaggers will direct traffic. Work is expected to be completed by Memorial Day weekend.

  • Towpath Trail Closure

    NPS has closed the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail from Hillside Road to Stone Road in Valley View. A section of the trail is not passable due to hazardous conditions caused by erosion. Towpath is expected to be open by Memorial Day, May 27.

  • Bald Eagle Closure in Effect

    RR tracks, and 30 foot right of way on either side, are closed to all foot traffic from the Rt. 82 Bridge at Station Rd, north to the RR tracks at. The Cuyahoga R. downstream of the Brecksville Dam to the Fitzwater Rd Bridge is closed to water activities.

Enjoy the serenity of winter in the Cuyahoga Valley by snowshoe! A park ranger will give a brief lesson on how to snowshoe before each hike. Bring water and dress for an active outdoor outing. Space is limited. Fee: $5 per person for snowshoe rental. When snow is less than 4 inches, programs are conducted as hikes without snowshoes and are free. No advance payment is required. Locations will be provided upon registration. To register call 330-657-2752.

 Imagine taking a tractor-drawn wagon through evergreens to select your favorite tree for Christmas. What evidence of the past can you find? Discover the historical tree farm story on this 2.75-mile moderate snowshoe hike. 1 - 4 p.m.

 Evergreen Forests Snowshoe
 Discover what it is like to snowshoe through large stands of eastern white pine. Their long, soft, green needles are a lovely contrast to white snow. Join us on this 2.5-mile moderate snowshoe hike over hills and along a scenic plateau. 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
