Winter and Spring Service Starts for Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
Peninsula, OH. - Opening weekend for Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad’s (CVSR) National Park Scenic Winter-Spring excursion schedule is January 18 and 19, 2014.
The winter-spring schedule for the Scenic Excursions is limited and will vary January – May due to bridge repairs and construction. January through mid-March will include departures from the Akron Northside Station, the Brecksville Station and Peninsula Depot. Mid-March to April 27th service will be offered between Akron Northside and Peninsula.
Rockside Station and Canal Visitor Center will be closed until May 3, when the full track re-opens. From March 22 through April 27, Brecksville and Boston Mills stations will also be closed.
Brunch along the Cuyahoga will also be a part of the weekend offerings on board. A 5-course brunch is served in one of CVSR’s newly remodeled dining cars while traveling through the National Park.
A variety of Special Events will be available, including Ales on Rails – beer-tasting excursions, wine-tasting excursions, Dinner Trains, The Easter Bunny Express and more. Bike Aboard! service will start in May with the opening of the full track.
Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad provides transportation to and within Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) under a joint operating agreement and is dedicated to the preservation of passenger rail transportation in Cuyahoga Valley and along the historic Ohio & Erie Canalway. CVSR is a private sector, not-for-profit 501 c (3) volunteer supported organization. Scenic train excursions are offered twelve months of the year, along with a variety of special events, including The Polar Express™, Day Out With Thomas™ and more.
