Canal Visitor Center Closure
Canal Visitor Center will be closed for construction, starting Monday, May 6, 2013. It will reopen with new exhibits in early 2014.

Bald Eagle Closure in Effect
RR tracks, and 30 foot right of way on either side, are closed to all foot traffic from the Rt. 82 Bridge at Station Rd, north to the RR tracks at. The Cuyahoga R. downstream of the Brecksville Dam to the Fitzwater Rd Bridge is closed to water activities.

Brecksville, Ohio – On Sunday, April 17, 2011, Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) and the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park host their monthly house concert featuring former CVNP Artist-in-Residence Ed Caner who serves as both musician and host. The series, which occurs on the third Sunday of every month through May, will highlight local guest performers and different styles of music in the intimate setting of a restored bank barn on the Hines Hill Campus. Concerts start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission: $8 adults, $6 Conservancy members. Advance sales are recommended and are available by calling 330-657-2909. Seating is limited. The hotline is updated at 2 p.m. the day of every concert and is intended to inform callers of sold-out events or weather-related cancellations Violinist/Fiddler Ed Caner has been labeled by the Cleveland Plain Dealer as, "One of the most versatile musicians on the planet." During the past 15 years, he has performed as a sideman for over 50 major acts. Joining Ed this month is singer, guitarist, and songwriter Kathy Johnson, performing her own originals, folk, vintage country, cowboy songs, and popular standards. Her programs combine interesting material, witty commentary, and a fun straightforward style. Kathy has recorded three CDs which received enthusiastic reviews from critics and fans. For over 25 years, she has sung at festivals and clubs in the Eastern U.S., Nashville, and Canada and has performed 12 years at First Night Akron. She is in the Ohio Arts Council's Performing Arts on Tour program and is on the Artist Roster of the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. In 2007, Kathy was selected as a semi-finalist in the NewSong Academy Songwriting Contest and her song, "Way Out West," was the honored first track on the compilation Folk Train 2001 CD, which featured 24 musicians from the U.S., Canada, and England. Hines CVNP encompasses 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Managed by the National Park Service, CVNP combines cultural, historical, recreational, and natural activities in one setting.
