    Valley Picnic Area Parking Lot is closed for the replacement of the damaged culvert on the Plateau Trail, from dusk on Monday, September 22 to 5 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014. Access to Plateau Trail is via the Oak Hill Trailhead. Loop unavailable.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Hours for Fall 2014

Brecksville, Ohio – Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) announces the following visitor services for the months of September, October, and November.

Your park adventure begins at Boston Store Visitor Center, located at 1550 Boston Mills Road, Peninsula 44264. Stop here to watch a short park video, pick up brochures and maps, and speak to knowledgeable staff. The visitor center is open daily in September and October, 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and daily in November, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. It is closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 27.

The new Canal Exploration Center, located at 7104 Canal Road, Valley View 44125, is the park’s newest attraction with exciting exhibits on the Ohio & Erie Canal. The center is open Wednesdays through Sundays in September and October, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays in November, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

CVNP encompasses 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Managed by the National Park Service, CVNP combines cultural, historical, recreational, and natural activities in one setting. For more information visit www.nps.gov/cuva or call 330-657-2752.

November is the time to be on the lookout for bald eagles performing aerial courtship displays. Once eagles have selected each other, they plunge through the air in very high dives, locking their talons and breaking apart just when it looks as though they will crash to the ground.
