Changes in Boarding Stations for Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad

Brecksville, Ohio – Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad will no longer board passengers at Canal Visitor Center beginning Saturday, May 28 until further notice. This is due to the extension of the Rockside Boarding Station construction and the capacity of the Canal Visitor Center parking lot for the increased use in the summer. Visitors are encouraged to board the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad at any of the other boarding stations that allow for walk-ups: Brecksville Station, Peninsula Depot or Akron Northside Station. Bike Aboard! riders are able to board at any of the stations other than Canal Visitor Center.

This will affect the following excursions:
- National Park Scenic offers an excursion through the national park to view wildlife and scenery. Boarding will no longer occur at Canal Visitor Center, instead, visitors can board at any of the other stations.
- Bike Aboard! riders will continue as scheduled but cannot board at Canal Visitor Center. They can ride the train to Canal Visitor Center and de-board to ride their bicycles back on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.
- Canal Explorer will operate as scheduled. Ride to Canal Visitor Center for a lock model demonstration and exhibits on the Ohio & Erie Canal. Following a 40-minute layover, climb back aboard for a return trip. (May - Peninsula Depot, 12:10 p.m.) Akron Northside Station, 10:40 a.m. and 2:25 p.m. Peninsula Depot, 11:20 a.m. and 3 p.m.
