Brecksville, Ohio - Cuyahoga Valley National park (CVNP) and the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park are celebrating Valentine's Day with a special Music by Nature series concert on Sunday, February 12. This concert will be held in the intimate setting of a restored bank barn, on the Hines Hill Campus. The concert starts at 3 p.m.
Stephen and JoNell Aron have been performing the unique songs of America's past together for over fifteen years. They have been featured on concert series across the U.S. and in Europe, and have recorded two CDs, both to critical acclaim. Specializing in the romantic ballads and humorous ragtime repertoire of the great vaudeville tradition, and accompanied by Stephen's often virtuoso arrangements, they have truly created their own niche.
This special Valentine's Day program will feature the most romantic of the songs of the period. Sentimental, melodramatic, and absolutely corny, these songs were originally sung without irony. To hear them done without tongue-in-cheek today is a revelation and a discovery of some of the most beautiful domestic art-song ever written. As a bonus, on several numbers, you'll find yourself singing along!
Tickets are $20 ($17 for Conservancy members) and include a dessert reception following the performance. Advance sales are available by calling 330-657-2909. Seating is limited. Facility is not wheelchair accessible. For updated ticket availability information, call the Cultural Arts Hotline at 330-650-4636, ext. 228. The hotline is updated at 2 p.m. the day of every concert and is intended to inform callers of sold-out events or weather-related cancellations.
