Brecksville, Ohio – The Boston Store Visitor Center in Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) will be open for visitors on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Exhibits tell the story of canal boat building in the valley.

Fall is a wonderful time to visit the park! Take a 1.5 mile hike around the Brandywine Gorge. Then visit the 65-foot Brandywine Falls, the second highest falls in Ohio. A boardwalk takes you to upper and lower observation platforms, which overlook the falls head on. Open daily from dawn to dusk. Brandywine Falls is located at 8176 Brandywine Road in Sagamore Hills 44067.

The Ledges Trail offers a 1.8-mile hike that will take you through towering sandstone and cool, moist hemlock and yellow birch forests. Open daily from dawn to dusk. The Ledges Trailhead is located on Truxell/ /Kendall Park Road, 1 mile west of Akron Cleveland Road, Peninsula 44264.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is offering a free train ride to honor veterans and their families. The train will depart from Rockside Station, at 1:30 p.m. for a three-hour, round trip that includes the Voices of the Valley audio tour.

The free tickets will be available at the Rockside Station 45 minutes prior to departure, and will be awarded on a first-come, first served basis. No advance tickets are available. All current military members, veterans, and their families are invited. World War II Veterans will be seated in the Premium Section as special recognition.
