The George Wright Forum is a publication of the George Wright Society, an organization dedicated to the protection, preservation, and management of cultural and natural parks and preserves through research and education. Publications such as the George Wright Forum and the biennial conference of the George Wright Society are an important part of the exchange within the national and international conservation community.

“Landscape Stewardship: New Directions in Conservation of Nature and Culture,” was the theme of an issue of the Forum that Nora Mitchell, director of the Conservation Study Institute, Jessica Brown, vice president of international programs,QLF/Atlantic Center for the Environment, and Fausto Sarmiento, associate director, Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of Georgia, co-edited. This issue was dedicated to exploring successful landscape stewardship models around the world and, in particular, highlighting the conservation models that are integrating biodiversity conservation, cultural heritage protection, and the sustainable use of resources.
