The Conservation Study Institute is committed to participating in a lively and meaningful exchange of ideas within the national and international conservation community. Publications such as the The George Wright Forum are an important part of this exchange.

To this end, Nora Mitchell, director of the Conservation Study Institute, co-edited the March, 2000 edition of the Forum with Jessica Brown, Vice-President of International Programs,QLF/Atlantic Center for the Environment, and Fausto Sarmiento, associate director of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of Georgia. This issue, "Landscape Stewardship: New Directions in Conservation of Nature and Culture," features essays by notable professionals in the field and surveyed current issues and successful landscape stewardship models.
