Museum, Trenton, NJ Welcome to the National Park Service’s Crossroads of the American Revolution in New Jersey Home Page. At this site you will discover information relating to our current study of New Jersey’s important role in the American Revolution.

The Congress of the United States directed the National Park Service (NPS) to study the remaining Revolutionary War resources in New Jersey to determine if there is an appropriate role we can play in their future protection. Among the choices is whether a portion of the State qualifies for designation as a National Heritage Area, a voluntary partnership between state and local organizations and the NPS.

A National Heritage Area is a locally controlled strategy that serves to protect natural and cultural resources through the efforts of a representative management entity working in partnership with the many interested organizations and citizens that share the desire to work together to protect our heritage. The federal government provides financial and technical assistance to the local management entity for a period of ten years.
