Visiting the Moon is an on-line activity that provides pre- or post-visit exercises in observation, inference, and critical thinking meeting standards in the Nature of Science field:

Broken Top Loop Guide is an on-site field trip guide that provides a number of ways to meet Idaho curriculum standards. Teachers can focus on the geologic features to meet standards for Earth and Space Systems, or emphasize the plant life and diverse habitats to to satisfy Biology standards. For every grade level use inquiry and encourage students to make observations and inferences to cover Nature of Science standards:

The Teacher's Guide to Craters of the Moon is geared mainly for 5th and 6th graders, though some activities can be adapted to other grade levels. The activities provide depth in a variety of subjects, and most can be completed in the classroom without a visit to the monument or as pre- or post-visit activities (recommendations below).
