Procedure

Hannah's Cowpens was an easily recognized place for the soldiers to meet because it was a well-known grazing area for cattle. The setting for Cowpens National Battlefield is both Temperate Deciduous Forest and Grassland.

In this activity, divide the students into two groups and assign each group a biome.
Have the students read the biome learning sheet to get the "gist."
Pair students (one grassland, one forest) so they can teach their partner about their biome. Facilitate a discussion that compares and contrasts the two biomes.
