On Wednesday, May 7, 2008 East Rim Rock Drive will be temporarily closed between 6am - 9am and again in the afternoon between approximately 2pm- 6pm. Glade Park commuters are advised to use Little Park Road to avoid this road closure. A 120 ton crane will be traveling from Colorado National Monument's East Entrance Station to Red Canyon on Rim Rock Drive to remove a car from the bottom of Red Canyon. The crane will take up both lanes. Cars and bicycles will not be permitted in this section of closed road. Visitors may drive along Rim Rock Drive from the west entrance as far as Red Canyon Overlook but they may not continue east on Rim Rock Drive throughout Wednesday's car removal operation. These road closures apply to bicyclists as well as to motorists. |
