Maps, GPS and Bighorn Sheep (5 miles, 4 hours)
On this ranger-led hike in Lower Monument Canyon, students will use topo maps and gps units to investigate desert bighorn sheep habitat and behaviors. Using data from recent research, students will analyze past locations of radio collared sheep and relate those locations to a topographic map as well as the terrain.
*Please note scheduling for this field trip is dependent on availability of the gps class set.
