10th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Diamond's)

10th Cavalry Regiment was formed during the fall of 1863 using May's Kentucky Mounted
Battalion as its nucleus. It contained men from Kentucky and Virginia. The unit served in the
Department of East Tennessee and the Department of Western Virginia and East Tennessee, and
skirmished in various conflicts in Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky. In the spring of 1865 it
disbanded. The field officers were Colonels George R. Diamond, Andrew J. May, and Edwin
Trimble, and Major William R. Lee.
